This project is the result of a 2 year (and counting) trusting collaboration between owner and design team in trying to create a home that felt like it belonged here, was based on integration with natural rhythms, and met all the City guidelines for what the Community says it wants in respect for neighbors local and regional.

The big challenge has been convincing the City review agencies that the solution stems from their own rules, though being in a form that is foreign to them. The truth in this case is that the most public part of the project is the process itself. Now more so.

In the end the home needs to live well for the owners interests, while also respecting neighbors in every way possible. At the same time, the challenge in todays world is doing it in a manner that makes sense and  put it together with maximum energy efficiency, both passively and actively.

Its not everyday that a client like this comes along. And its an opportunity we hope to realize by 2010.
